Wedding at Villa Vignamaggio in Tuscany
Ah, Tuscany... We admit, Italy is a big part of our lives. This is already the third wedding we've covered in Tuscany, and each time, we are amazed by the magnificent buildings that host weddings there.
When we first saw Villa Vignamaggio, we were immediately captivated. Those who know us well know that we are a bit particular about the colors in our photo stories... We love warm colors, and our current favorites are brick, rust, and terracotta... Have you seen the villa? Then you understand perfectly.
So, in September, we traveled to Chianti to meet our couple of the day (well, the next day), Tong & Calvin. We only knew them from a prior phone call (everything was orchestrated by an Italian wedding planner: exclusive wedding italy), so we were very eager to meet them. This lovely couple, originally from Hong Kong and Singapore and having lived in Paris, fell in love with Italy, just like us, so much so that they chose it for their intimate wedding celebration.
It was a magnificent day, colored by a blend of cultures. That day, we spoke three languages at once: French with Tong, English with Calvin and the other guests, and Italian with the various vendors. Everything was perfectly organized for this very small wedding of barely 24 people, and the decoration was magnificent (Floral Design: Chiara Sperti FLoral Events). Most of the guests came from Asia and were discovering Europe for the first time.
Preparations took place in the villa's magnificent rooms, followed by a secular ceremony in the gardens and a cocktail hour on the terrace during golden hour: nothing was left to chance. Tong had chosen a sublime dress from Stéphanie Wolff, which suited her perfectly. The decoration was truly stunning. It was a moving ceremony (where Marie, of course, cried, even though everything was in Chinese – goes to show!^^). It was a superb experience, and we warmly thank this couple for choosing us from Hong Kong to come to Italy for their wedding.
Do you love Tuscany? We do too... so let us take you to another incredible wedding near San Gimignano.
Wedding at Le Chauffour in Alsace
We can't say it enough: choosing your wedding photographer(s) is, above all, about a connection. We met Anne-Cath & Arnaud, and we can truly say, the magic was instant. We are incredibly lucky to meet couples throughout the year who are similar to us and share our aspirations.
The scene was set... a relaxed, somewhat boho wedding at Chauffour (a first for us). Upon arrival, we immediately fell in love with the venue, the woods, the mountains... everything was perfect. Some might say everything was there except the weather, but for us, it was simply PERFECT, and we wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
At this wedding, we laughed and we cried. We took a short ride in a super stylish mini-van. The ceremony took place in an authentic, candlelit chapel. We braved the rain for the couple's photos, only to be caught in a proper downpour just 2 minutes after finishing. And the atmosphere during the evening was absolutely electric.
As you can imagine, we had an amazing day, but to truly appreciate it, it's best to look at the photos.
Engagement session in Martinique
Today, we're taking you to Martinique, to an incredible place... that doesn't feel like Martinique at all: the Savane des Pétrifications desert. During our stay for a beautiful wedding, we naturally scouted locations where we'd love to shoot. It's not always easy, as, of course, the most beautiful viewpoints are often several hours' walk away... so we tried to find a balance.
And we stumbled upon photos of this place and instantly fell in love. We wanted to experience Martinique differently, and we certainly did.
And finally, we went there twice because the possibilities were incredible. Today, we're presenting our second session where the sun decided to hide. With this cool couple whom we took on a short one-hour hike before arriving at this magical spot.
Marie is a photographer in Martinique and will soon be in the Toulouse region (yes, she's leaving the sun and all that) with her partner Steff. It was a first for them, and we can say they rose to the challenge with flying colors (let's be honest, putting up with us isn't easy ^^).
