Wedding at Domaine de Sarson in Provence

Sometimes, as photographers, to refine our skills and try new things, we get to assist other photographers at their weddings. That's exactly what we did on this day with Laurianne from Alyna Photographie at Domaine de Sarson.

Amidst old stones, lavender, and sunshine, everything was perfect. Domaine de Sarson is simply magnificent, and the day we spent there was even more so. An outdoor ceremony, ultra-badass tattooed newlyweds, and an incredible atmosphere: that's how to sum up this amazing day. But once again, pictures speak louder than words, and, naturally, there are many, many of them.

Engagement session in Porto

We had been talking about Portugal for a while (like many other destinations on our to-do list, for that matter). When we met Lucas & Mélina for their wedding consultation, Porto was central to our conversation because the young couple had just returned from there. We discussed an engagement session, and you guessed it, it took us about 5 minutes to agree that we would all go together. When I say ALL, I mean the couple, us, and even the DJ. When we commit to a wedding, we go all in, and we love to surround ourselves with vendors who share our passion. That's how part of the wedding team ended up going to Porto for 4 days.

Having your engagement session abroad adds a whole new dimension to the upcoming event and to our relationship with the couple and other vendors. We often say that we don't like to be just 'vendors' because for us, the important thing is that everyone feels comfortable; the photos will only be better for it. Therefore, the prospect of spending 4 days with our couple was obviously a golden opportunity to get to know them better.

Since this wasn't our first time spending a few days with "almost" strangers, we had no apprehensions; we knew everything would be great. After 4 days, we felt refreshed, not only because the sun was with us but also with our heads full of new memories.

The agenda for these few days included: city tours of Porto during the day, and shooting in the evening when the light is perfect (you know us by now, golden hour is the most important). So we had chosen a few nice spots for shooting, which we spread out over several days (because the beautiful light doesn't last long enough to move from one location to another)... we mainly chose to shoot in the city by the water, and we made a small detour to a beautiful beach not far away: Praia do Senhor da Pedra. Truly magnificent. All of this was punctuated by lovely evenings where we indulged in Portuguese gastronomy for next to nothing (it's really worth it).

It's now time to take a closer look at these images. You'll see the soft light in the photos that we love so much. It was truly a great pleasure to shoot there, and we can't wait to go back for more adventures.

Engagement session in Iceland

Some days, the phone rings and it signals a beautiful day ahead. A text message: “Iceland or Thailand?”... of course, we replied ICELAND, and so we embarked on this slightly crazy project to capture an engagement session in this land of ice and fire.

When you think of Iceland, you expect to be visually stunned. But you don't quite expect *this*... a sense of being transported like never before. Kilometers of no man's land, only to stumble upon a gigantic waterfall, icebergs... In fact, Iceland was clearly a revelation... a playground that perfectly suits us.

So, we set off for 4 days with our couple, with a clear idea of the places we wanted to see and photograph. As is our custom when embarking on this kind of expedition, we shot in several locations over several days. The advantage of Iceland in winter is that it offers us a low, soft light all day long, allowing us to make the most of the shorter days.

Our couple was incredibly brave, because despite the sun being present in most of the photos, there were also moments of storms and extreme cold, but these two had unwavering motivation.

So, let us take you on a little road trip through the south of this wonderful country. Open your eyes wide; we can't wait to go back.
