Wedding in Burgundy at Domaine de la Javernière
Our story with Max & Lucie is, to say the least, atypical (at least for us), as we met them the day before their wedding. Those who know us are aware that we always try to meet our couples beforehand and establish a connection with them, which helps us work better on the big day. Max & Lucie are two very busy people living in London. And it's safe to say they know what they want. A few messages exchanged, and everything was settled. Lucie had sent us the details of the upcoming celebration, and we had the pleasant surprise of staying in a gite with some of their friends. So, we first met them through their friends. A rare, but certainly amusing, situation.
So, it was on a beautiful August weekend, right in the middle of the COVID period, that we traveled to Burgundy, more precisely to the Domaine de la Javernière. To be honest, not only do we adore Burgundy, but we were absolutely enchanted upon discovering such an elegant and welcoming venue. This year, we had fewer weddings than we usually do, and we were particularly excited about the prospect of exploring a new location.
Lively preparations, a deeply moving secular ceremony, a cocktail hour with an incredible band providing the soundtrack, excellent wine… and perfect weather – that's all it took for a truly wonderful day.
But the best way to truly appreciate it is still to see it all in photos, isn't it?
Wedding at Villa Ostignano in Tuscany
Today, our destination is Tuscany for a wedding in the heart of Chianti at a magnificent stone villa: Villa Ostignano. We met Mélissa & Thomas the day before the festivities, after having discussed their wedding at length via WhatsApp.
They hail from Switzerland, radiate a zest for life, and recently experienced the joy of becoming parents.
For their wedding, they wanted to take their guests on a journey, not too far, but enough to offer a change of scenery. As Thomas has Italian roots, Italy was the natural choice.
Simplicity, greenery, wood, good humor, and a touch of whimsy: that's how this wedding can be summarized. But also endless emotion, bursts of laughter, a united family, a touching ceremony – in short, everything came together for a truly timeless moment.
Wedding at Hameau de Valouse in Provence
It was November 17th when we received Isaline's email, almost not believing it: a wedding in Provence, our first inquiry from Instagram. It was a lovely email with all the details, where we discovered Hameau de Valouse. Many exchanges with the bride followed, a true connection that materialized during our visit to Marseille for their engagement session.
After a few kilometers of winding roads in the heart of the Baronnies regional natural park in Provence to meet Isaline and Brice, we discovered Hameau de Valouse. With its stone houses, three swimming pools, and magical setting, we fell in love with this incredible place. And then there were these two people: beautiful, adorable, and touching. We also adored their style: a sumptuous dress from Madewithlove bridal and a handsome grey suit.
And despite the scorching heat, this wedding was bathed in a very relaxed and festive atmosphere, with an incredible energy at the cocktail hour and an incredibly touching ceremony filled with both laughter and tears.
Describing this day would be so complicated that we much prefer to share the photos. A big thank you again to our lovely couple for their trust. We adore you and hope to see you again very soon.
Heading to Domaine de Sarson for another wedding in Provence.
